COVID-19 Relief, 2020

  • Provided dry food rations to more than 12000 daily wage earners & slum dwellers
  • Distributed cooked food (more than 1,60,000 freshly prepared meals) through our community kitchen partners, (Moonshine Food Ventures, Pure Hearts and NRAI) to the migrant laborers in Gurguram area with help of the citizen volunteers and local administration.
  • To encourage sanitization in these communities we are in contact with, and providing soap (~8000 cakes), Detergent powder (~6000 kg), and masks (~5000 in Gurugram and ~5000 in Patna) to all, including the local sanitation workers, since ensuring cleanliness is critical to curbing COVID-19.
  • Partnered with other NGOs to send 14 buses with migrants to MP, UP and Bihar under the supervision of Gurugram administration.
  • Adopted 60 destitute single mothers and provided them with ration, and gas cylinders also for cooking for long term.

Communal Riots in Delhi, (Feb 2020)

  • Dry ration was provided to the 100+ families affected by the riots. earners & slum dwellers
  • NCERT textbooks (Class VII to XII), notebooks, pens and pencils, along with story books and biscuits for approximately 200+ younger children, were distributed in the communities affected by the communal violence in North East Delhi.

Bihar floods (Oct 2019)

  • Close to 1000 kg of ready to eat meals like noodles, milk powder, biscuits, baby food, dry ration was distributed by friends on ground and Rotary Club of Patna, Goonj (Patna Chapter), Rabta (NGO)
  • Basic medicines, Chlorine tablets, cleaning materials were distributed through local partner Patna Diaries.
  • 1 Mini truck (75 boxes) of Clothes – Old and new were distributed through Rabta (NGO), Goonj (NGO)
  • 75,000 Sanitary Napkins were distributed through Padamshree Sr. Sudha Vargheese (Danapur, Gaya) Sisters of Notre Dame (Patna, Jamalpur, Sheikpura, Piro, Sasaram and Chenari areas), and to Ayyub Girls High school and Julie School (a school for the underprivileged), as well as to the students of the Neher Par School that we support (all in Patna)

Kerala Floods (Aug 2018)

  • Ready to eat meals including fruit juices, biscuits, noodles, milk powder, baby food for approx. 1000+ families
  • Provided medicines as requested by Preventive and Social Medicine Department (Trivandrum Medical College) and to the district Hospital at Ernakulum, as per the requirements of doctors on ground. We collaborated with the CSR teams of Air India and Indigo airlines, for all essential emergency requirements to be airlifted by and sent further to Ernakulum in chopper.
  • Insulin for approx. 200 patients was carried by pilots of Indigo and Air India, as a personal endeavor, with a strict eye on cold chain preservation, and delivered through a human chain to the Chief Medical Officer at Trivandrum.
  • Chlorine tablets, Sanitary napkins, diapers, soap, detergents and mosquito repellents were also a part of the relief material sent.
  • Clothes – Old and new for distribution in the affected areas and community shelters
