Children at a Vision Unlimited After School Club

After School Club (ASC)

Learning Today. Leading Tomorrow.

Our After School Club (ASC) programme aims to supplement the current public education system for the community, by focusing on three activities:

  • Help "out of school" children develop the basic learning skills needed for them to be "ready for school".
  • Provide after-school support (eg: doubt clearance, reinforcement of key concepts) to children already enrolled in a government school.
  • Incentivize participation through parent engagement and incentives (eg: school supplies, learning aids, 1 meal supplement per day, regular free health check-ups).

Foundational Literacy & Numeracy

  • Non-formal education and early childcare.

  • Nutritional supplementation — small meals of roughly 12g protein and 800 calories on each day of attendance.
  • Monitoring of growth.
  • Remedial supplements, as needed for deficiency-related concerns.

Socialising & Personality Development

  • ASC is a safe place for children who are usually unsupervised in slums.
  • Overall personality development through specialised learning programmes.
  • Encourages peer-to-peer learning and socialisation.
  • Provides role models for children and helps prevent addictions.

Early Childhood Development

A strong start begins early. Our ECD programme gives young children a safe, nurturing environment for play, exploration and early learning. Through age-appropriate activities, storytelling, creative expression and caregiver engagement, we help children build the foundational skills, confidence and curiosity they need to become ready for school.

Children are encouraged to express, imagine, communicate and discover through play-based and oral learning — creating joyful early experiences that build the foundations for lifelong learning.

Non-Formal Education (NFE)

Learning should never stop because a child has fallen behind. Our NFE programme supports older children through foundational literacy and numeracy, catch-up learning and reinforcement of school concepts — working with children who are out of school as well as those attending government schools, helping them bridge learning gaps and stay connected to their education.

Alongside academics, children are encouraged to build confidence, communication, creativity, social skills and a sense of possibility through mentoring, peer learning and exposure to new experiences.
