Vision Unlimited is a not-for-profit organisation registered under the Indian Trust Act in February 2020, focused on education and health for children, along with disaster relief. Our After School Club (ASC) programme supplements the public education system through three activities:
Our focus is on every day on-ground constraints, furthering inclusion and a positive social change, with an aim to make a difference in the community. While currently Patna and Gurugram are our active areas of operations, we are proud of an outreach network that is pan India and been leveraged multiple times in the past for various initiatives (detailed later in the note).
Vision Unlimited was registered as a Trust, Under Indian Trust Act, 1882, on 28th Feb 2020, located out of Gurugram (Badshapur), Haryana. We work towards providing pragmatic solutions for everyday problems and in times of grave need, alike. While the formal registration of trust happened few months back; we take pride in touching lives of thousands of our fellow citizens across the country with our various initiatives in the last 8 years since formation.
As responsible citizens, we recognize our own privilege, and the need to help those less fortunate and unfortunately marginalised. Dr Shibal Bhartiya, with the support of a group of friends, in 2012 therefore, decided provide a collaborated helping hand to those who need it, when they need it the most.
Our learning centres are based in the most marginalised, transitional communities and migrant-worker settlements of Badshahpur, Gurugram, Haryana.
Dr. Shibal Bhartiya is a glaucoma specialist and health-systems leader with more than two decades of experience across clinical care, academic medicine and community outreach. She currently serves as Clinical Director of Ophthalmology at Marengo Asia Hospitals, Gurgaon, and as Program Director at the Marengo Asia Institute of Neurosciences and Spine, working on integrated care models across India.
Vision Unlimited traces back to 2020, when a boy named Saidul, living near a migrant settlement in Badshahpur, asked her for something to write in. That small request grew — one notebook, one gate turned blackboard at a time — into five After School Clubs now supporting thousands of children and their families across Gurugram's urban slums.
Dr. Bhartiya continues to run Vision Unlimited alongside her clinical and academic career, bringing the same evidence-driven approach to both: look closely, measure honestly, and build around what the community genuinely needs. She is also the author of the novel Bena's Summer (HarperCollins India) and is currently writing a fiction trilogy.
